Our Welcome Point is a friendly space supporting the intercultural integration of international students, employees, and guests of our university. It is located in a cozy corner of the public computer room on the top (fourth) floor of Building L.

The opening ceremony was preceded by the thematic meeting "Visual arts from all around the world" which was organized in Auditorium Maximum, on the first floor of building L.

Its participants were first familiarized with a selection of Ukrainian art, the artistic output of 10 Ukrainian artists presented by Mrs. Olga Veselska a lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Automation. Then, Mr. Sefa Gürbüz, a student of International Business, presented the audience with 10 treasures of visual arts from Turkey. Afterward, dr. Agnieszka Będkowska-Kopczyk from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences presented the achievements of Max Fabiani, an architect of Jugendstil ("Youth Style") who is linked to the Slovenian, Italian and Austrian culture. He also left his footprints in Bielsko-Biala. The first part of the event ended with the performance of prof. Carlos Dimeo Alvarez who told us about the activities of the student theater group called "Kurtyna".

The next point of the program was the discussion panel "How international experience imprints your life", in which Mr. David Wawrzuta, a student of sociology, and dr. Ruslana Ziubina, a lecturer, talked about their experiences of arranging their lives in Poland after coming to our country from Australia and Ukraine, respectively. The rest of the day's events concerned the Welcome Point more directly.

Dr. Agnieszka Będkowska-Kopczyk appeared again, presenting the idea and tasks of the Welcome Point project. Then she invited to address some words the rector of the University of Bielsko-Biała, JM dr hab. eng. Jacek Nowakowski who, after a short speech, led the participants of the event from the Auditorium Maximum to the fourth floor where the Welcome Point is located. There, together with dr. Będkowska-Kopczyk, they cut the ribbon, officially opening the Welcome Point of University of Bielsko-Biala.

On a specially prepared wall covered with blackboard paint, international and Polish employees and students, starting with the rector himself, wrote words of welcome in various languages. The event ended with refreshments in the wide corridor of the fourth floor of building L.

About 300 participants took part in the thematic meeting and opening ceremony.
