In the current academic year, as it was in the past one, at the University of Bielsko-Biala, there is organised a course of intercultural assistants. This year’s course is organised within the framework of the project “Internationalisation starts at home – the right direction”, financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.

The main goal of the project is development of an empathic society, open for different cultures and nationalities. The programme of the course covers 40 didactic hours, realised in two groups: the academic employees and the students.

The workshops cover the subsequent areas:

• Ambassador of Intercultural Integration;
• Introduction to multiculturality;
• Communication and cultural misunderstandings;
• Cultural adaptation in practice, with elements of the English language;
• Diversity of the educational systems;
• Role in a group, mediations, conflicts;
• Stereotypes and multicultural intelligence;
• How to support the students and employees with a migration experience.

The course was opened by mgr Sylwia Deryło, the founder of the School of the Intercultural Assistants in Bielsko-Biała. During the workshops, held on 28^th and 29^th of November, Ms. Deryło told the participants about the topics of interculturality and importance of the Ambassodors of Intercultural Integration.
